Important role of APIP

Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP) plays an important role in generating the Central Government Financial Statements (LKPP) with an unqualified opinion (WTP). This was said by the Vice Minister of Finance Mardiasmo in coordination meeting of APIP at Gandhi Hall, Central Office of Finance and Development Supervisory Agency (BPK), Jakarta, today (24/2). He added that the Inspector General and the main inspectors were expected to actively oversee the budget preparation, implementation, and helped during the evaluation. In addition, he continued, the Inspector General can also evaluate legislation, whether it is in accordance with existing conditions, and can recommend improvements to the government. In addition to providing assurance and consulting, the Inspector General is also expected to be a liaison officer when audited by the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). For information, the meeting was attended by representatives of the Inspectorate General and the main inspector of 68 ministries/institutions. It was organized in order to improve the quality and accountability of LKPP.
